A successful or unsuccessful attempt to intentionally kill oneself. Suicidal behaviors indicate that a person wishes to, intends to, or actually attempts to commit suicide, often because they feel they are left with no other choice. Suicidal behaviors can accompany many emotional disturbances, including depression, schizophrenia, and other psychotic illnesses.
